As part of the celebrations for "Citizenship Day" in New Caledonia (24 September), the Delegation of New Caledonia in Australia is organising the 2026 edition of the "New Caledonia Film Festival", in partnership with the network of Alliances Françaises in Australia, the Pacific Centre for International Encounters and Exchanges (CREIPAC), the New Caledonian Association of Fiction producers (ACPF), the French Embassy in Canberra and Warrina Cineplex Townsville.
The New Caledonia Film Festival will run in six Australian cities (Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart, Adelaide and Townsville).


2026 New Caledonia Film Festival.

Drinks and finger foods will be provided from 6:00pm.
The screening will start at 6:30pm for a duration of 1 hour and a half approximately.

La Tête Tournée (14’ – Fabien Dubedout & Erwann Bournet, 2018)

Le Cadeau (12’ – Nicolas Parent, 2025)

Please note that all movies are in French with English subtitles.


Tickets : $12 for AF Members or $15 for Non-Members, free for children.
The drinks and finger foods are included with your tickets .

We are pleased to announce that this year the Festival will be hosted at the Warrina Cineplex. We remind you that Warrina Cineplex is a non-smoking venue.

  • In order to enrol to any of the classes offered by the Alliance Française de Townsville, a valid membership is required.
  • Membership Fee is non refundable in case of withdrawal from a course.
  • All fees are payable in advance. Access to classes can commence only after payment is confirmed.
  • Alliance Française de Townsville reserves the right to cancel courses if the minimum number of students enrolled is not reached.
  • An administration fee will be charged for students cancelling their enrolment less than a week before the start of the Term.
  • Once classes have started, no refund can be granted unless medical reasons can be justified.
  • Classes falling on public holidays will be rescheduled at a suitable time.
  • Cancellation of class due to teacher’s illness: class will be rescheduled at a suitable time.
  • Classes are subject to variation due to enrolment numbers and days may be changed at the discretion of the Alliance Française de Townsville.
  • Alliance Française de Townsville reserves the right to redirect a student to a more suitable class level if necessary
  • New students who are not complete beginners will need to use the placement test to help identify their current level.
